Understanding the employee perspective on your digital workplace is the hardest thing.

Which is why we developed the Digital Workplace Experience Study

What is DWXS?

Simply, it’s a survey you run with your employees to understand their perceptions of the tools, channels and content that you provide for communication, collaboration and getting things done.

It uses a standard but configurable set of questions so you compare your scores with others, and to track year-on-year trends.

You can choose to run it in your own Microsoft 365 environment or internal surveying tools, or host it in ours.

Employee responses are collated and analysed to give you a detailed view of what your employees think of your digital workplace, so you can plan and target improvements.

What’s in the report?

Your personal 39-page report shows where your digital workplace is judged by your own employees to be performing well, and where you could best target improvements to meet employees’ growing expectations.

It includes:

  • an executive summary highlighting your highs and lows

  • a question-by-question breakdown of your scores

  • topic summaries showing your performance across each of our 10 digital workplace lenses

DWXS gives you key digital workplace insights from the most important perspective — your users — so you can plan your digital workplace roadmap.

Our scores will show you what your users think; our benchmark will demonstrate how you stack up against others.

Our clients use their individual reports to identify and prioritise changes, and use the benchmark data to make the case for change with their stakeholders. Choose a single topic or the whole study, the data we provide will give you the insight you need to make better decisions.

How you get set up

  • Plan

Let us know you’re interested via the form.

We'll be in touch to talk you through the setup, answer any questions you have and the options you can choose.

Once you’ve decided to go ahead, we'll get your survey configured and ready to test, approve and run.

We can help you every step of the way - answering any questions you have and sharing template comms you can use.

  • Run

Encourage your employees to complete the survey. You could send this to all staff, or just to a sample, but we’d suggest getting a wide and representative cross-section of your people.

We’ll keep you up to date on progress, with a quick daily update on completions.

We typically suggest leaving the survey open for ten days.

  • Improve

Once the survey closes we’ll run analysis of your collated scores. We’ll create and deliver a detailed report with a breakdown, question-by-question and by section, showing your employees’ perceptions of your digital workplace.

This will give you the data you need to identify and prioritise improvements to your digital workplace. By giving the employee view, you can help stakeholders understand what changes are needed.

What’s next?

Our detailed reports will give you evidence that you need to drive change - from simple quick fixes to ideas for your future roadmap.

Once you have your report you can make the case for change to or investment in your digital workplace.

You might also need to investigate further, for example by doing some qualitative research. Using DWXS data helps you to focus this work more effectively, reducing your spend on professional services.

You could conduct a review of your channels to understand why you got the scores you did. We can help - or point you to some resources to do this yourself.

If you make changes, run the Study again in a year or so to measure the impact they’ve made.
